A public review is considered to be a potential factor for the product. We invited potential customers to rate a series of reviews and tests like ( AB, UI, Usability )— some written by incentivized reviewers, some written by non-incentivized reviewers — and then express their interest in using the product in our study. People were more interested in purchasing the product after reading a review from an incentivized reviewer, which we predicted because the incentivized reviews were more favourable. Of course, interested purchasers are a wonderful thing – but if glowing reviews are false, they can lead to disappointment and criticism. As a result, management should be open about whether consumers were compensated for submitting evaluations.
